Final Project

  1. A1: I thought the train page was very interesting. I like how you did the back round of the train station with the complentary colors.

A2: I feel Like you could have done more with the complementary colors on the big middle page.

A3: I like how you book had the feeling of traveling. I think the composition flow was good but could have been a little strong.

  2. Q1- Most Striking Color Concept: The use of complimentary colors on the 2 page spread was the most striking to me, because it really made the red figures pop out with the blue and green background.
Q2 - Least Striking Color Concept: The complimentary colors on the first page; for one, I don't really see any complimentary colors, and two, the whole thing is pretty brown, and except for the window. I'm not really sure what's going on, whether in the room depicted or design-wise.
Q3 - I really enjoy the use of black on all pages, it really helps the flow and gives importance to the colored objects on each page. The urban theme also comes off really strong which is great, and definitely shown through the entire book, but he reuses a bunch of the color concepts, and I was kind of hoping for some dynamic ones, but really there was mostly just monochrome and complimentary, which was kind of disappointing. I did like the book overall though, it came out really nice :)

  3. A1: I think the last page is the most visually striking, unlike some of the other pages there is less noise, which in a way makes sense because it is sleepy-time. The gradient is not too extreme. It appears to be made of soft colors, and that also adds to the atmosphere. *FIST-BUMP*

A2: Initially I thought the first page was neutral colors with some accents, but it comes off as too dull. It also looks a bit creepy. I think its the noise particles that make it look haunted.

A3: Taking each page's subject, I think the story is easy enough to understand. What was noticeable right away though was the stretching or squishing of the original photos. It looks like the framing was okay, but forcing them into a shape that wasn't the original ratio made some of the pages look off.
